Nutrition 4 Barbados

Health students, nutrition students, nursing students, medical students are all welcome and will benefit from our health and nutrition program. It's taught by a registered dietitian who has her doctorate in clinical nutrition and has extensive experience as a clinician and educator.

Our interactive and engaging program will take them out of the classroom and into the community. They will learn and gain valuable experience developing and presenting nutrition-related interventions.

Depending on enrollment and sponsorship, tuition may be waved for Barbadian students accepted into our program.

We are happy to arrange a 3-6-week nutrition course for nursing and medical student groups that meet the requirements for electives or credits. These courses can be online, hybrid, face to face or a combination.

Please make a donation in the name of "College Student" and help us support this critical initiative to improve the health of Barbados.

Nutrition Abroad-Barbados

White sand beaches and crystal blue waters await you in Barbados.  It's the first place we've chosen to make a difference.  While chronic disease is a global problem it's especially a Bajan one.  The incidence of diabetes is one of the worst in the Caribbean causing this beautiful island gem to be nicknamed "The Amputation Capital of the World".  Our nutrition education sessions are targeted to Barbadians to help them understand their dire situation and how they can become a healthier and stronger nation. All our interventions are free or a minimal cost to the local community. Students, please visit www.na4ns.com for more information on our study abroad community program.

"During my time with Nutrition Abroad I was deeply moved by the tours and the incredible people I met. I am immensely grateful for this extraordinary experience. I was fortunate to have two outstanding supervisors who are clearly passionate about the program, which made my time there even more meaningful. I would wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone interested.

"It was a wonderful opportunity to assist with the fair that educated the community about cardiovascular disease, diabetes, renal disease, and recipe modifications for healthier living. The experience was truly rewarding, especially because the Bajan people are so warm, caring, and genuinely interested in learning. The island itself is a breathtaking place, and I will never forget how quickly I fell in love with it.

"My time with Nutrition Abroad gave me something truly unique. Not only were the three weeks some of the best of my life, but I also gained valuable knowledge and perspectives that I wouldn't have encountered otherwise. The lessons I learned, both professionally and personally, will stay with me forever."
